If you are new to Anaesthetics and Recovery nursing, you may find the following Associations for nurses helpful. We have listed both the Irish and Uk Anaesthetic & Recovery Nurses Association
BARNA (British Anaesthetic & Recovery Nurses Association)
http://www.barna.co.uk/
BARNA (British Anaesthetic & Recovery Nurses Association) established in 1987 in the Midlands as a specialist organisation catering for recovery and anaesthetic nurses who were not represented by any other association. BARNA became the UK representative for the International Federation of Nurse Anaethetists in 1993 and has long represented the view that non-physician provision of anaesthetics would be practical in UK. Membership includes nurses, ODP’s and doctors involved in the provision of care in the anaesthetic and recovery areas.
The Irish Anaesthetics and Recovery Nurses Association
(I.A.R.N.A)
The committee of the Irish Anaesthetics and Recovery Nurses Association (I.A.R.N.A) has been formed within the Southern Health Board Hospitals. We are in the process of highlighting and promoting the association nationally. We have been successful in forming a link network with all the acute hospitals in the country.
